Only Israeli citizens and residents are categorically barred. The total cost is roughly USD 8 application fee plus a USD 120 visa fee and a small payment-processing surcharge, around USD 128-132 total. Processing typically takes 1-3 weeks, with an express option reported. Afghanistan remains under a Level 4 "Do Not Travel" advisory from multiple governments, and many embassies have suspended traditional visa services, which is why the online e-Visa has become the main channel. Travelers should also note that since mid-2024 Afghanistan only honors visas issued by Taliban-aligned consular authorities or the e-Visa portal, not those from former Republic-era missions.
