A Malaysian ordinary passport holder needs an e-Visa to visit Togo. Apply online at the official portal (voyage.gouv.tg) at least 5 days before travel. Visa on arrival was abolished in April 2024 and is no longer available. Togo requires Malaysian ordinary passport holders to obtain a visa before travel. Togo's visa exemption applies only to nationals of African Union / African states (for stays up to 30 days), so Malaysians are not visa-exempt. Since April 2024 Togo no longer issues visa on arrival; instead all non-exempt travellers must apply for an electronic visa (e-Visa) through the official government portal at voyage.gouv.tg, submitting the application at least 5 days before arrival, with processing of up to about 5 working days. The tourist e-Visa is offered in single- and multiple-entry tiers priced by validity/duration, ranging from roughly CFA 25,000 (single entry, short stay) to CFA 65,000 (multiple entry, up to 90 days). Separately, every traveller must complete an online immigration / travel declaration at least 24 hours before arrival to receive a travel slip presented at the border, and a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate is mandatory for all arrivals regardless of origin. Togo is in West Africa and is not part of the Schengen area, so Schengen 90/180 and ETIAS rules do not apply.
