If you stay in a hotel, the hotel registers you automatically; if you stay in private accommodation, you self-register via the Emehmon online system (emehmon.uz). For stays longer than 30 days, or for non-tourist purposes such as work or study, an e-visa (USD 20 for 30 days, single/multiple entry) or a traditional visa through an Uzbek diplomatic mission is required.
