South Korean ordinary passport holders need a free Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) to visit Sri Lanka for tourism. It grants a 30-day stay with double entry. Sri Lanka does not grant unconditional visa-free entry to South Korean citizens. The Tourist ETA allows a stay of up to 30 days from the date of first arrival, with double (two) entries permitted within that period. The passport must be valid for at least six months from the date of arrival, and travelers should carry proof of onward/return travel and sufficient funds. Visa on arrival is technically available at Bandaranaike (CMB) airport but is not recommended because restricted-nationality handling, queues, and higher risk make a pre-approved ETA the standard, reliable channel. The verdict is "eta" because the trip requires a pre-travel electronic authorization even though no fee is charged for South Korean nationals.
