A Japanese ordinary passport holder needs a visa to enter Cameroon, and the standard route is the official Cameroon eVisa, applied for online before travel at evisacam.cm. There is no visa on arrival for ordinary passports. A yellow fever vaccination certificate is mandatory. Japan is not on Cameroon's short list of visa-exempt countries (which covers only certain neighboring African states), so Japanese tourists must obtain a visa in advance. Since the 2023 reform, Cameroon runs a centralized electronic visa system on the official government portal (evisacam.cm). Visa on arrival is not available to ordinary passport holders, and there is no visa-free or visa-waiver agreement between Japan and Cameroon.
