Italian passport holders do NOT need a visa for short tourist trips to Kyrgyzstan. You may enter visa-free, but as of 31 December 2025 the stay is capped at 30 calendar days within any 60-day period (reduced from the previous 60 days). Italy is an EU member state, and all EU citizens enjoy visa-free entry to Kyrgyzstan. Following Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 855, effective 31 December 2025, the visa-free allowance for citizens of 55 countries (including Italy and all EU states) was shortened to a maximum cumulative stay of 30 calendar days within any 60-day period. Previously the allowance was 60 days. No advance visa, e-visa, or registration is required for stays within this limit. Travelers simply need a passport valid for at least 6 months and, in practice, evidence of onward or return travel. Kyrgyzstan is NOT part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. Those wishing to stay longer than 30 days, or who need multiple-entry flexibility, can apply for an e-visa via the official e-gov portal (evisa.e-gov.kg) for a fee of roughly USD 30 with processing of about 5 working days.
