🇭🇰HONG KONG🇫🇮FINLANDHK-FI Do Hong Kong passport holders need a visa to visit Finland?
Holders of an ordinary HKSAR passport can travel to Finland visa-free for tourism for up to 90 days within any 180-day period across the Schengen Area. No visa is required as of 30 May 2026. ETIAS travel authorisation is NOT yet in force; it is expected to launch at the end of 2026. Finland is a Schengen Area member state. Ordinary Hong Kong SAR passport holders enjoy visa-free entry to Finland and the wider Schengen Area for short stays of up to 90 days in any rolling 180-day period for tourism, business or family visits, as confirmed by both Finland's diplomatic mission in Hong Kong and the HKSAR Immigration Department. The 90/180 rule is cumulative across ALL Schengen states, not per country. The passport must be valid for at least three months beyond the intended departure date and have been issued within the previous 10 years. The EU's ETIAS pre-travel authorisation (a EUR 20 online application, valid 3 years) will become a requirement for visa-exempt travellers including HK passport holders, but it is expected to start operations only at the end of 2026 and is not yet mandatory as of 30 May 2026 - so currently no ETIAS, eVisa or visa is needed for a short tourist trip.
