Can I work on visa-free entry?

No. Visa-free covers tourism, business meetings, conferences, family visits, exchanges, and transit. Paid work requires the Z visa; formal study requires the X visa; journalism the J visa.

Does visa-free cover Hong Kong or Macau?

No — visa-free into mainland China is separate from HK/Macau rules. French passport holders are visa-free in HK (90 days) and Macau (90 days) under separate bilateral arrangements.

What about mobile payments and apps?
