Do Brazil passport holders need a visa to visit IR?

Brazilian ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for short tourism in Iran. Since 4 February 2024, Brazil has been on Iran's visa-exemption list, allowing a stay of up to 15 days, non-extendable, once per 180-day period. For stays longer than 15 days, a tourist eVisa (via the official MFA portal) or a visa on arrival at major airports is required. Iran granted Brazil visa-free entry for tourism as part of its expanded visa-waiver program launched on 4 February 2024. Brazilian citizens holding an ordinary passport may enter without any prior visa and stay up to 15 days for tourism, non-extendable, limited to one such stay within any 180-day window. The exemption is confirmed by Wikipedia's Visa policy of Iran and Visa requirements for Brazilian citizens pages and by visa-service trackers. A passport valid for at least six months beyond the intended stay is required. Travelers planning to stay longer than 15 days, or who want a longer multi-purpose stay, should obtain a tourist eVisa through Iran's official Ministry of Foreign Affairs portal (evisa.mfa.ir) before travel, or a 30-day visa on arrival available at major international airports (e.g., Imam Khomeini International) for those arriving by air. Important caveats: Iran denies entry to passports bearing an Israeli stamp or visa, US/UK/Canadian nationals face stricter guided-tour rules (not applicable to Brazilians), and confirmed accommodation plus travel insurance covering Iran are typically expected. Because Iran is sanctioned, foreign bank/credit cards do not work; travelers must carry cash. This guidance is conservative where the visa-free channel applies cleanly to ordinary Brazilian passports for short tourism.
