Do Brazil passport holders need a visa to visit IR?

Brazilian ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for short tourism in Iran. Since 4 February 2024, Brazil has been on Iran's visa-exemption list, allowing a stay of up to 15 days, non-extendable, once per 180-day period. For stays longer than 15 days, a tourist eVisa (via the official MFA portal) or a visa on arrival at major airports is required. Important caveats: Iran denies entry to passports bearing an Israeli stamp or visa, US/UK/Canadian nationals face stricter guided-tour rules (not applicable to Brazilians), and confirmed accommodation plus travel insurance covering Iran are typically expected. Because Iran is sanctioned, foreign bank/credit cards do not work; travelers must carry cash. This guidance is conservative where the visa-free channel applies cleanly to ordinary Brazilian passports for short tourism.
