Do UAE passport holders need a visa to visit ME?
UAE ordinary passport holders can enter Montenegro visa-free for up to 90 days within any 180-day period for tourism and short visits. No visa or pre-travel authorization is required. Holders of an ordinary United Arab Emirates passport do not need a visa to visit Montenegro for tourism or short stays. Under Montenegro's official visa regime, UAE nationals may enter, transit and stay for up to 90 days within any 180-day period with a valid travel document. Montenegro is NOT part of the Schengen Area, so this allowance is independent of the Schengen 90/180 rule, and the EU's ETIAS system does not apply to Montenegro. There is no electronic travel authorization or visa-on-arrival process for UAE citizens; entry is granted at the border on presentation of a valid passport. Border officers may still ask for proof of accommodation, onward or return travel, and sufficient funds, and the passport should be valid for the duration of the stay (carrying validity well beyond the trip is recommended). The visa-free status applies to the UAE passport itself. Note that UAE residents who hold a non-UAE passport are treated differently: residency alone typically grants only a limited (about 10-day) entry with confirmed travel arrangements, or they may rely on a valid Schengen/US/UK/Ireland visa or residence permit. This guide covers UAE citizens with an ordinary passport, for whom the route is straightforwardly visa-free.
