Do UAE passport holders need a visa to visit LT?
No visa required. UAE ordinary passport holders can enter Lithuania visa-free for tourism for up to 90 days within any 180-day period, under the EU-UAE visa-waiver agreement. Lithuania is a member of the Schengen Area, and the United Arab Emirates has held a bilateral short-stay visa-waiver agreement with the European Union since 6 May 2015. As a result, UAE ordinary passport holders do not need a visa to visit Lithuania for tourism or other short stays. They may enter and stay for a maximum of 90 days within any rolling 180-day period across the entire Schengen Area. As of 31 May 2026, no electronic travel authorization is yet required: the EU's ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorisation System) is scheduled to become mandatory for visa-exempt nationals (including Emiratis) only in the last quarter of 2026. Until ETIAS goes live, travel remains genuinely visa-free with no online pre-authorization. The traveler must hold a passport valid for at least 3 months beyond the intended departure from Schengen and issued within the previous 10 years, and may be asked at the border to show proof of accommodation, return/onward travel, sufficient funds, and travel medical insurance.
