United Arab Emirates to Lithuania visa requirements

UAE ordinary passport holders can enter Lithuania visa-free for short stays of up to 90 days in any 180-day period. ETIAS is not required yet; official EU sources expect it to start operations in late 2026, followed by transitional/grace periods before full enforcement. As of 18 June 2026, the UAE-to-Lithuania route remains visa-free for UAE ordinary passport holders making short Schengen stays. Lithuania's official consular guidance says aliens covered by a visa-free regime may enter Lithuania and stay without a visa for a period not exceeding 90 days in any 180-day period, and the EU-UAE short-stay visa waiver agreement is still in force. Because Lithuania is a Schengen member, the 90/180 allowance is shared with all other Schengen states. The traveler should use a passport valid at least 3 months beyond departure from Lithuania or another Schengen country and issued within the previous 10 years, and should carry proof of accommodation or itinerary, return/onward travel, sufficient funds, and purpose-of-visit documents. Lithuania's consular page also says all foreigners from non-EU countries seeking entry to Lithuania must carry proof of a medical insurance policy for hospitalization and medical treatment in Lithuania plus proof of sufficient financial resources. The old wording understated that insurance point by treating it only as recommended. The Entry/Exit System (EES) is now relevant at external Schengen borders and, according to the official EU EES FAQ, is fully operational from 10 April 2026. ETIAS is not operational and no action is required today. Official EU pages say ETIAS is expected to start operations in the last quarter/end of 2026, will cost EUR 20 for most applicants aged 18 to 70, and will be followed by transitional and grace periods before it becomes a fully enforced pre-travel requirement. The old Q4-2026 mandatory wording was therefore too strong.
