UAE ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for Cyprus. You can enter visa-free for tourism and stay up to 90 days within any 180-day period. As of 18 June 2026, holders of an ordinary United Arab Emirates passport enjoy visa-free entry to the Republic of Cyprus for short stays. Emirati nationals may stay for up to 90 days within any 180-day period for tourism or business, with no visa or pre-arrival authorisation currently required. This is confirmed by both the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Embassy in Nicosia) and the Republic of Cyprus government. Cyprus participates in Schengen cooperation, but internal border controls have not yet been abolished and Cyprus is not currently using the EU Entry/Exit System (EES); passports are still stamped manually in Cyprus. Its short-stay count remains separate from the Schengen zone. ETIAS is scheduled to start in the last quarter of 2026 and will apply to visa-free travel to the Schengen area and Cyprus once operational. Until ETIAS launches, no electronic authorisation is needed. Passports must be valid for at least 3 months beyond the intended departure date. Travellers should carry proof of onward/return travel, accommodation, and sufficient funds, as these may be checked at the border.
