Do UAE passport holders need a visa to visit CM?
UAE ordinary passport holders need an eVisa to enter Cameroon for tourism. Apply online at the official portal evisacam.cm before travel; a yellow fever vaccination certificate is mandatory. As of May 2026, holders of an ordinary United Arab Emirates passport must obtain a Cameroon eVisa before traveling, even for a short tourist visit. Cameroon grants visa-free entry to only a handful of nationalities, and the UAE is not among them. While a visa-on-arrival agreement for UAE ordinary passport holders was signed in October 2019, it has never entered into force; visa-on-arrival is currently available only to UAE service-passport holders, and visa-free entry only to UAE diplomatic-passport holders. Ordinary travelers must therefore apply through the official online portal at evisacam.cm, which is the sole accepted channel (embassies and consulates no longer accept paper applications). The short-stay eVisa costs around 153 EUR for normal processing (issued within 72 hours of payment) or about 229 EUR for express processing (24 hours). A valid International Certificate of Vaccination against yellow fever is mandatory for entry, along with a passport valid for at least six months, proof of onward travel, accommodation, and sufficient funds. Travelers should apply at least 10 days before departure.
