The official E-Afghans portal (eafghans.com/e-visa) is the current online tourist e-visa route for foreign tourists. The e-visa is a single-entry tourist visa: it must be used within 90 days (3 months) of issuance and permits a stay of up to 30 days. Critically, the e-visa is currently accepted for entry only at Kabul International Airport (HKIA); land borders and other airports such as Mazar-e-Sharif, Herat, and Kandahar do not yet accept it, although departure is allowed from any exit point. The official fee table splits payment into an initial USD 8 fee plus USD 0.25 online service fee, then a remainder fee after approval. For non-U.S. passports such as UAE, the standard remainder total is USD 123.71, making the standard total USD 131.96; Express processing adds a USD 50 express fee and totals USD 183.51. Standard processing is 1-4 weeks, with Express/VIP processing up to 1 business day for complete applications. Travelers should also be aware that Afghanistan remains under Taliban administration and security risks are severe; comprehensive insurance, current UAE MoFA guidance, and tour-operator support are strongly recommended.
