South Africa to Morocco visa requirements

South African ordinary passport holders need a visa to enter Morocco for tourism. South Africa is not on Morocco's visa-exempt list, and it is not on the general eVisa nationality list either. The Morocco eVisa is only available conditionally to South Africans who hold a valid residence permit or qualifying visa from a Schengen state, the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Japan, New Zealand or Ireland. Travelers who do not meet that condition must obtain a traditional tourist visa from the Moroccan Embassy in Pretoria before departure. Morocco is not in the Schengen area. The standard tourist visa is a short-stay visa permitting up to 90 days. Morocco is NOT part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply; Morocco operates its own national visa and eVisa systems. Document requirements include a passport valid beyond the stay, a recent colour photo (35x45mm), proof of accommodation and return travel, and (for non-citizen residents) a valid South African residence permit.
