Vietnam to Uganda visa requirements

Vietnamese ordinary passport holders need a visa for Uganda and must obtain an eVisa online before travel — there is no visa-free or standard visa-on-arrival channel for Vietnam. Apply through the official Uganda portal at visas.immigration.go.ug for a single-entry tourist visa (USD 50), and carry a yellow fever vaccination certificate. Uganda requires Vietnamese (VN) ordinary passport holders to hold a visa; Vietnam is not on Uganda's visa-exemption list. Since July 2016 Uganda operates a mandatory electronic visa system: all eligible visitors must apply and pay online in advance at the sole official portal, visas.immigration.go.ug, and travel with a printed approval letter. The standard tourist product is a single-entry visa costing USD 50 (plus a 3% online card surcharge), valid for entry within 90 days of approval and permitting a stay of up to 90 days. Processing typically takes about 2–3 working days. A valid International Certificate of Vaccination (yellow fever), issued at least 10 days before arrival, is mandatory for all travellers aged one year and over and is checked at the border. Travellers combining Uganda with Kenya and Rwanda may instead choose the East African Tourist Visa (USD 100, multiple entry across the three countries, 90 days) — but the country you apply through must be your first point of entry. Uganda is in East Africa and is not part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. Beware of numerous fraudulent "Uganda visa" websites that overcharge; use only the government portal.
