Do Vietnam passport holders need a visa to visit Türkiye?
Yes, you need a visa, but it is a simple online e-Visa. Since 1 September 2025, Vietnamese ordinary passport holders can apply directly through the official e-Visa portal (evisa.gov.tr) with no need for a prior Schengen/US/UK visa. Vietnamese ordinary passport holders need a visa for Türkiye, and the easiest route for a short tourist visit is the Türkiye e-Visa. In a major policy change effective 1 September 2025, Vietnam was added to the list of nationalities eligible to apply for the e-Visa directly online, removing the previous requirement to first hold a valid Schengen, US, UK or Ireland visa or residence permit. The e-Visa is single-entry, permits a stay of up to 30 days, and is valid for 180 days from the date of issue. It is applied for entirely online at evisa.gov.tr, costs roughly US$20, and is usually approved within minutes. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months (and Turkish authorities expect validity of at least 60 days beyond the intended stay). The e-Visa covers tourism, business and transit only; for work, study or stays longer than 30 days you must obtain a sticker visa from a Turkish consulate.
