Vietnam to Somalia visa requirements

A Vietnam ordinary passport holder needs an eVisa (eTAS) to visit Somalia. Since 1 September 2025, the online eTAS is mandatory for nearly all foreign visitors and must be approved before boarding; Vietnam is not on the visa-free or visa-on-arrival list. Somalia replaced its old visa-on-arrival practice with a mandatory Electronic Travel Authorization System (eTAS/eVisa) on 1 September 2025, administered by the Immigration and Citizenship Agency (ICA) through the official portal evisa.gov.so. Only Rwanda and Malaysia citizens are visa-exempt (30 days), and visa-on-arrival is limited to 11 named African nationalities. Vietnamese passport holders are on neither list, so they must obtain an approved eVisa before travel. The standard tourist eVisa is single-entry, costs roughly USD 60, permits a stay of up to 30 days, and the authorization is valid for entry within a window (commonly up to 90 days from issue / arrival date selected). Passports must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry. Applicants complete the online form, upload a passport bio-page and photo, pay the fee, and receive the approval by email to present on arrival. Note that Somalia carries severe travel-safety advisories from most foreign ministries; this guidance covers immigration formalities only, not safety.
