Vietnam to Rwanda visa requirements

Yes, you can travel. Vietnam ordinary passport holders are NOT visa-exempt for Rwanda, but Rwanda grants a visa on arrival to citizens of every country with no prior application required. You can also apply online in advance (eVisa) via the official Irembo portal. Either way it is the same V1 visitor visa: USD 50 single entry (30-day stay) or USD 70 multiple entry (90-day stay). A Vietnamese ordinary passport holder does not need a visa arranged before departure in the sense of an embassy pre-clearance, but a visa is required to enter Rwanda. Since 1 January 2018 Rwanda issues a visa on arrival to citizens of ALL countries without prior application, so a Vietnamese tourist can simply land at Kigali International Airport (or a land border) and obtain the V1 visitor visa on the spot. Vietnam is not among the countries Rwanda waives visa fees for (those are African Union, Commonwealth and La Francophonie members, plus a short 90-day list), so the standard fee applies. The recommended approach is to apply online beforehand through the official Irembo platform (irembo.gov.rw) to get an electronic entry visa, which speeds up arrival and lets you pre-pay; visa on arrival remains a reliable fallback. The V1 visitor visa costs USD 50 for single entry (30-day stay) or USD 70 for multiple entries (90-day stay). Rwanda is not in the Schengen area, so Schengen 90/180 and ETIAS rules do not apply. Verified against the Rwanda Directorate General of Immigration and Emigration (migration.gov.rw) and Visit Rwanda.
