Vietnam to Serbia visa requirements

Vietnamese ordinary passport holders need a visa to enter Serbia for tourism. Apply for a Serbian short-stay (Type C) visa online via the e-Visa portal or at a Serbian embassy/consulate before travel. Exception: if you already hold a valid Schengen, EU member state, UK, Ireland, or US visa or residence permit, you may enter Serbia visa-free for up to 90 days within any 180-day period. As of June 2026, Vietnam (ordinary passport) is not on Serbia's visa-exempt list, so a visa is required for a short tourist stay. Serbia offers a short-stay Type C visa (tourist/private purpose) that can be applied for either online through the official e-Visa portal (evisa.welcometoserbia.gov.rs) or in person at a Serbian diplomatic-consular mission. The Type C visa allows up to 90 days within a 180-day period. Importantly, Serbia is NOT a member of the Schengen Area, so the EU/ETIAS short-stay framework does not apply to entering Serbia, and Serbia issues its own national visa. However, Serbia recognizes third-country visas: any traveler (including Vietnamese citizens) holding a valid Schengen, EU member state, UK, Ireland, or US visa or residence permit may enter, transit, and stay in Serbia visa-free for up to 90 days in a 180-day period, provided the held visa remains valid for the entire stay. There is currently no bilateral visa-waiver agreement between Serbia and Vietnam. Given that no unconditional visa-free channel exists for an ordinary Vietnamese passport, the conservative and correct verdict is visa-required, with the e-Visa being the most practical route. The standard consular fee for a Type C visa is EUR 60, paid in Serbian dinar (RSD) at the National Bank of Serbia middle exchange rate; processing typically takes up to 15 working days and may extend to 30 days in some cases.
