Vietnam to Pakistan visa requirements

A Vietnamese ordinary passport holder needs a visa for Pakistan and should apply for the online tourist e-Visa through Pakistan's official portal (visa.nadra.gov.pk) before travel. There is no visa-free or visa-on-arrival channel for Vietnam, and Pakistan's free "Visa Prior to Arrival" (VPA) scheme was suspended on 1 January 2026, so the standard paid e-Visa is now required. Pakistan is a visa-required destination for Vietnamese ordinary passport holders, but it operates a fully online electronic visa system (Pakistan Online Visa System, POVS) run by NADRA at visa.nadra.gov.pk. Vietnam is among the nationalities eligible to apply for the online tourist e-Visa. From August 2024 Pakistan offered a free 90-day multiple-entry "Visa Prior to Arrival" (VPA) to citizens of 126 countries, but this program — together with the visa-on-arrival facility — was suspended with effect from 1 January 2026, with no reinstatement announced as of mid-2026. Vietnam was one of those 126 countries, so Vietnamese travelers can no longer use that free channel and must instead apply for, and pay for, the standard tourist e-Visa in advance. Fee exemptions remain only for a short list of countries (Afghanistan, China, Japan, Iceland, North Korea, Slovakia, Malaysia, UAE, Saudi Arabia); Vietnam is not on that list, so a fee applies. The standard tourist e-Visa is single entry, valid for 3 months from issue, normally permitting a stay of up to 30 days (extendable in-country up to 90 days), with official processing of roughly 7-20 working days. Pakistan is not part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 short-stay rule and ETIAS do not apply. Conservatively, travelers should treat Pakistan as e-Visa-required and apply at least two to three weeks before departure.
