Vietnam to Mozambique visa requirements

Yes - a Vietnamese ordinary passport holder needs a visa for Mozambique. Vietnam is not on Mozambique's visa-exempt or eTA list, so the recommended route is the tourist eVisa applied for online before travel via the official portal (evisa.gov.mz). A visa on arrival (USD 50, 30 days) is also available at border posts since Vietnam is not on the excluded list, but pre-applying for the eVisa is safer. As of June 2026, holders of an ordinary Vietnamese passport are not eligible for Mozambique's visa exemptions. Mozambique grants visa-free entry only to most SADC member states, and an eTA (Electronic Travel Authorization, ~USD 48) to a list of roughly 25-29 unilaterally exempt nationalities - Vietnam is not on either list. Vietnamese citizens must therefore obtain a visa. Mozambique relaunched its official digital visa platform (evisa.gov.mz, operated with VFS Global) in February 2026, and the recommended channel is the tourist eVisa applied for online before departure. The tourist eVisa is single-entry, allows stays of up to 30, 60 or 90 days, and the government fee is tiered (about 6,250 MT for 30 days). A visa on arrival for USD 50 (single entry, up to 30 days) also remains available to Vietnamese travelers, who are not among the nationalities excluded from VOA. Travelers should carry a passport valid at least six months with two blank pages, proof of accommodation, a return/onward ticket and proof of funds. Note that only Vietnamese diplomatic/official passport holders are visa-exempt; ordinary passport holders are not.
