Vietnam to India visa requirements

Vietnamese ordinary passport holders need an India e-Visa (electronic visa) for tourism. There is no visa-free entry or visa on arrival — apply online before travel at the official portal indianvisaonline.gov.in. As of 21 June 2026, holders of an ordinary Vietnam passport cannot enter India visa-free and are not eligible for visa on arrival. The standard tourism route is the India e-Tourist Visa (e-Visa), applied for online via the Government of India portal indianvisaonline.gov.in before departure. Vietnam is on India's e-Visa eligible nationality list. Three e-Tourist variants exist: a 30-day double-entry visa, a 1-year multiple-entry visa (max 180 days in India per calendar year), and a 5-year multiple-entry visa (max 180 days in India per calendar year). Applications must be lodged at least 4 days before arrival; the 30-day e-Tourist Visa may be applied for up to 30 days before travel, while 1-year/5-year e-Tourist applications may be made up to 120 days before travel. e-Visa holders must enter through the designated airports or seaports listed by the e-Visa portal, and may depart from any authorised immigration check post. The passport must be valid for at least 6 months at application, with two blank pages, and travellers should hold onward/return travel and sufficient funds. Official 2026 e-Tourist fees for Vietnam are USD 10/25 for the 30-day visa, USD 40 for 1 year, and USD 200 for 5 years, plus bank/payment charges. Foreign travellers must also complete India's e-Arrival Card online within 72 hours before arrival.
