Vietnam to Guyana visa requirements

Vietnamese ordinary passport holders are NOT visa-exempt for Guyana. They must obtain a visa, issued as a Visa-on-Arrival, but ONLY after securing a "Permission to Land" / Visitor Visa approval letter from Guyana's Ministry of Home Affairs in advance (applied for online via the eServices portal). With the approval letter and fee receipt, the visa is stamped into the passport on arrival for an initial stay of up to 30 days. Guyana does not include Vietnam on its visa-exempt list, and Guyana does not issue a conventional e-visa. The standard route for nationals who require a visa and cannot reach a Guyanese embassy/consulate is the Visa-on-Arrival channel: the traveler (or a host/sponsor) first applies online through the Immigration Support Services eServices portal (eservices.iss.gov.gy) for a Visitor Visa / Permission to Land approval letter issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs. Processing takes roughly 10-14 working days. The applicant pays the government fee (about USD 25 standard, USD 35 expedited; ~GYD 5,125) and must present the payment receipt and approval letter to immigration officers at Cheddi Jagan International Airport, where the visa is added to the passport for an initial stay of up to 30 days. The tourist stay can be extended twice (30 days each) for up to 3 months total. A single-entry visa is valid 3 months; multiple-entry up to 1 year. Passports must be valid for at least 6 months. Guyana is in South America and is NOT part of the Schengen area, so no Schengen 90/180 rule or ETIAS applies. As of June 2026, Guyana now also requires that visa-on-arrival applicants show their fee payment receipt to immigration agents to prove the application was processed by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
