Do Vietnam passport holders need a visa to visit Egypt?
Vietnamese ordinary passport holders need a visa to enter Egypt. Vietnam is NOT on Egypt's e-Visa or visa-on-arrival eligible lists, so you must apply for a tourist visa at an Egyptian embassy or consulate before you travel. As of 30 May 2026, a Vietnam (VN) ordinary passport holder requires a visa to visit Egypt for tourism. Vietnam does not appear on Egypt's electronic visa (e-Visa) eligible-country list, nor is it among the small set of visa-free or visa-on-arrival nationalities. The correct and conservative pathway is a traditional tourist visa obtained in advance from the Egyptian Embassy in Hanoi (or an Egyptian consulate). The standard single-entry tourist visa permits a stay of up to 30 days. Because Egypt is not part of the Schengen area, Schengen 90/180 and ETIAS rules do not apply. Travelers should apply well ahead of departure, carry a passport valid at least six months beyond arrival, and bring proof of accommodation and onward/return travel.
