Vietnam to Colombia visa requirements
Vietnamese ordinary passport holders need a visa to visit Colombia for tourism. Colombia issues this as an online visa (eVisa) applied for through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Cancillería). Important exception: if you already hold a valid US or Schengen visa or residence permit (valid for at least 180 days from your arrival), you can enter Colombia visa-free for up to 90 days. Colombia does not grant unconditional visa-free access to Vietnamese ordinary passport holders. For tourism, Vietnamese nationals must obtain a Colombian visa, which is applied for online through the Cancillería (Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores) electronic visa platform. The relevant category for a short tourist visit is the V-Visitor visa (visa tipo V). The only no-visa channel is the well-established substitute-visa exemption: holders of a valid United States visa or a Schengen Area visa or residence permit may enter Colombia without a Colombian visa for up to 90 days per entry, provided that US/Schengen document is valid for at least 180 days beyond the date of arrival in Colombia (transit visas do not qualify). Colombia is in South America and is NOT part of the Schengen Area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS are not applicable to entering Colombia. Regardless of the visa channel, every traveler must complete the free online Check-MIG migratory form within 72 hours before departure. Stays as a visitor are normally granted for up to 90 days and can be extended for a further 90 days (max 180 days in a calendar year) through Migración Colombia. Conservatively, the default verdict is eVisa/visa-required because most Vietnamese travelers without a US/Schengen visa must apply online before travel.
