🇻🇳Vietnam🇦🇫AfghanistanVN-AF Vietnam to Afghanistan visa requirements
Vietnamese ordinary passport holders need an e-visa to visit Afghanistan. Afghanistan launched its official online e-visa (E-Afghans portal) in March 2026; Vietnamese citizens are eligible. It is a single-entry tourist visa allowing up to 30 days, applied for online before travel, with entry via Kabul International Airport. As of June 2026, a Vietnam (VN) ordinary passport holder cannot enter Afghanistan visa-free. Afghanistan is not a visa-waiver partner and is not in the Schengen area. In March 2026, the de facto Afghan authorities launched an official electronic visa system at the E-Afghans portal (eafghans.com), which issues a single-entry tourist e-visa. Vietnamese citizens are among the nationalities eligible to apply online. The e-visa is valid for entry within 90 days of issuance and permits a stay of up to 30 days; at present it may only be used to enter through Kabul International Airport (HIA). The total cost is approximately USD 128 (an USD 8 application fee plus an approximately USD 120 visa fee, including a small processing charge), and standard processing takes about 1 to 3 weeks. A general visa-on-arrival is not available to ordinary tourists. Note: governments including the US (Level 4 - Do Not Travel) and Vietnam advise strongly against travel to Afghanistan due to security, terrorism, kidnapping and detention risks; many countries have no embassy presence there. Travelers should confirm current rules with the E-Afghans portal before booking, as the system is new and entry points and eligibility may change.
