United States to Uzbekistan visa requirements

US ordinary passport holders can visit Uzbekistan visa-free for up to 30 days for tourism. No visa or eVisa is needed since the new visa-free regime took effect on January 1, 2026. As of January 1, 2026, citizens of the United States holding ordinary passports may enter Uzbekistan visa-free for tourism or business and stay up to 30 days from the date of entry. The policy was established by a presidential decree signed November 3, 2025, to boost tourism and bilateral ties. Travelers simply arrive with a valid passport (3 months' validity beyond the stay, plus a blank page) and no advance application is required. Uzbekistan is in Central Asia and is not part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. One key local obligation remains: foreign visitors must be registered with the migration authorities within 3 days of arrival. Hotels and licensed accommodation do this automatically; travelers staying in private homes must register themselves at the local migration office. For stays beyond 30 days, an Uzbekistan eVisa (via e-visa.gov.uz) or consular visa is required.
