Do United States passport holders need a visa to visit Türkiye?

US ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa or e-Visa for tourist visits to Türkiye. You may enter visa-free for up to 90 days within any 180-day period. As of early 2025, Türkiye exempted U.S. ordinary passport holders from the visa/e-Visa requirement for short tourist and business visits. You can enter visa-free for up to 90 days within any rolling 180-day period. The previous Turkey e-Visa requirement for Americans (a ~US$50 online authorization) no longer applies for ordinary passports. Your passport must be valid at least 6 months beyond your entry date with at least one blank page. Stays over 90 days, or travel to work, study, or conduct research, still require an appropriate visa obtained in advance from a Turkish mission. Official passport holders are NOT covered by this exemption and must obtain a visa.
