United States to Ecuador visa requirements

No visa required. US passport holders can enter Ecuador visa-free for tourism for up to 90 days in the one-year/consecutive 12-month period counted from first entry. US ordinary passport holders do not need a visa to visit Ecuador for tourism because the United States is not on Ecuador's official visa-required nationality list. On arrival you receive a T-3 tourist admission permitting stays of up to 90 days in the one-year period counted from first entry; the U.S. State Department describes the same limit as a total of 90 days in any consecutive 12-month period, with days not needing to be consecutive and not tied to the calendar year. The allowance is cumulative across trips in that period, not 90 days per entry. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your arrival date and have at least one blank page for the entry stamp. Immigration may ask for proof of onward or return travel and sufficient funds. No visa, eVisa, ETA, or pre-arrival registration is required for a short tourist visit. If you need to stay beyond 90 days, a one-time 90-day tourist extension (prórroga) may be requested before the initial period expires; the official MREMH trámite lists a USD 50 application fee plus USD 30 when authorized. Otherwise an appropriate temporary or residence visa is required. Ecuador uses the US dollar (USD) as its official currency, and there is no fee for the standard 90-day visa-free tourist entry.
