United States to Cameroon visa requirements

U.S. ordinary passport holders need a visa to visit Cameroon. Since 30 April 2023, all tourist visas must be obtained online through the official Cameroon eVisa portal (evisacam.cm) before travel. A yellow fever vaccination certificate is mandatory for entry. A United States ordinary passport holder cannot enter Cameroon visa-free or with a traditional visa-on-arrival for tourism. Cameroon requires a visa for U.S. citizens, and since 30 April 2023 all entry-visa applications are submitted exclusively online through the official government portal at www.evisacam.cm. The standard tourist eVisa is a single-entry document permitting a stay of up to 90 days, with the eVisa approval typically valid for 180 days from issuance for the entry. The official eVisa fee is approximately 87.50 USD (payable online), and processing usually takes around 3–7 business days, though travelers should apply at least 1–2 weeks ahead. A valid U.S. passport with at least 6 months validity and a blank page is required, along with proof of accommodation, an onward/return ticket, and a mandatory yellow fever vaccination certificate (administered at least 10 days before arrival). U.S. citizens must enter and exit Cameroon on a U.S. passport bearing a valid Cameroonian visa or risk denial of entry or detention. Cameroon is not in the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply.
