Taiwan (Chinese Taipei) to Rwanda visa requirements

Taiwan ordinary passport holders can enter Rwanda with a visa on arrival. Since 1 January 2018 Rwanda grants visa on arrival to citizens of all countries without prior application. The standard V1 holiday/visitor visa costs USD 50 for single entry and is valid for a 30-day stay. You can also apply in advance through the official Irembo eVisa portal (recommended), and choose to pay online or on arrival. Taiwan is not on Rwanda's fee-free visa-waiver list, so a fee applies. Rwanda operates one of Africa's most open entry policies: since 1 January 2018, citizens of every country may obtain a visa on arrival at Kigali International Airport and designated border posts without prior application. Taiwan is not among the nationalities granted fee-free entry (those are African Union, Commonwealth and La Francophonie members for 30 days, East African Community members for 6 months, and a list of ~19 countries such as Singapore, Qatar, Indonesia and the Philippines for 90 days). Taiwan ordinary passport holders therefore pay the standard fee. The relevant category for tourism is the V1 holiday/visitor visa: USD 50 for a single entry valid for a 30-day stay, or USD 70 for multiple entries valid up to 90 days. Travelers have two practical paths: (1) apply online in advance through the official Rwanda government portal Irembo (irembo.gov.rw), with the option to pay online or upon arrival, processing typically a few working days; or (2) simply present a valid passport and pay at the port of entry. A passport valid at least 6 months with a blank page is required. Rwanda is in East Africa and is not part of the Schengen area, so no Schengen 90/180 rule or ETIAS applies.
