Taiwan (Chinese Taipei) to Mongolia visa requirements

Taiwan ordinary passport holders need a visa for Mongolia, but can apply online for the Mongolia eVisa instead of visiting a mission. Taiwan is NOT on Mongolia's visa-free list (the temporary 34-country exemption running through the end of 2026 does not include Taiwan), but Taiwan is an eligible territory for the tourist eVisa. As of mid-2026, a Taiwan (ROC) ordinary passport holder traveling to Mongolia for tourism must obtain a visa in advance. Mongolia does not grant Taiwan visa-free entry: the temporary tourist visa waiver Mongolia extended to about 34 mostly European and Oceania countries (valid through the end of 2026) does not list Taiwan, and Taiwan does not appear on Mongolia's standing bilateral visa-exemption list maintained by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Taiwan is, however, on the list of territories eligible to apply for Mongolia's official electronic visa (eVisa) at evisa.mn. The tourism eVisa is a single-entry permit allowing a stay of up to 30 days, with the eVisa itself valid for 150 days from issue (you must enter within that window). It is processed within roughly 2-5 working days. Mongolia is not part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. Passports must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of arrival. Visa-on-arrival exists only for a few countries (UAE, Kuwait, Qatar) and is not available to Taiwan; visa-on-arrival is therefore not a route for Taiwanese travelers. The conservative, accurate channel for a Taiwan tourist is the online eVisa.
