Taiwan (Chinese Taipei) to Kuwait visa requirements

Taiwan ordinary passport holders need a visa to enter Kuwait. Taiwan is not on Kuwait's visa-on-arrival/eVisa eligibility list, so a standard tourist must obtain a sponsor-based visit visa before travel. The only fast online channel (the simplified Kuwait eVisa) is open to Taiwanese only if they hold a valid US, UK, Schengen, or GCC residence permit/visa. As of mid-2026, a Taiwan (Republic of China) ordinary passport does NOT qualify for Kuwait's visa-on-arrival or open eVisa programme. Kuwait grants visa-free entry plus a 3 KWD visa on arrival / eVisa to roughly 53 countries and territories (EU/EEA, UK, US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, etc.), and Taiwan is not among them. Consequently, a Taiwanese tourist must secure a visa in advance. The most common route is a sponsor-based visit (tourist/family) visa: a host, hotel, or travel agency in Kuwait files the application through the Kuwait Ministry of Interior, and the approved visa is then collected/issued so the traveller can board. Because Kuwait has no embassy in Taiwan, applications are arranged via a Kuwaiti sponsor or, for residents elsewhere, via a Kuwaiti mission in a third country. There is one shortcut: Kuwait's simplified eVisa is available to most nationalities (including Taiwanese) who hold a valid visa or residence permit from the United States, the Schengen Area, the United Kingdom, or a GCC residence card valid 6+ months. That eVisa costs 3 KWD, allows stays up to 30 days, and is typically issued within 2-3 business days. A plain Taiwan passport with no such supporting document cannot use this channel and must rely on a sponsored visit visa. Travellers should confirm current rules before booking, as Kuwait periodically updates its eVisa eligibility and has relaunched the system in recent years.
