Turkish ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for Georgia. They can enter visa-free and stay for up to 365 days (1 year) per entry for tourism, business, or private visits. Turkish citizens may also enter using a chip-enabled national ID card instead of a passport. Georgia is one of the most open destinations for Turkish nationals. Under Georgia's visa-free regime (Government Decree No. 255), citizens of Turkey holding an ordinary passport may enter without a visa and remain for up to 365 consecutive days per stay for tourism and most short purposes. Georgia is NOT part of the Schengen area, so the 90/180-day rule and ETIAS do not apply. Uniquely, Turkish citizens (alongside a handful of neighboring countries) may cross the border using a new-generation biometric/chip ID card rather than a passport. There is no entry fee for the visa-free stay. Note an important 2026 change: since 1 January 2026, all foreign nationals entering Georgia must hold valid travel medical insurance with minimum coverage of 30,000 GEL for the duration of their stay.
