Thailand to Mongolia visa requirements

Thai ordinary passport holders can enter Mongolia visa-free for up to 30 days for tourism, under a long-standing bilateral visa-exemption agreement between Thailand and Mongolia. No visa, eVisa, or visa-on-arrival is needed for a short visit. Thailand and Mongolia maintain a permanent bilateral visa-waiver agreement that lets holders of ordinary Thai passports visit Mongolia without a visa for stays of up to 30 days per entry. This is distinct from the temporary visa-free program Mongolia extended for 34 mostly European/Western countries (valid until 1 January 2027) under its "Visit Mongolia" tourism push; the Thai exemption is a standing reciprocal arrangement and is not tied to that expiry. To use the visa-free channel, your passport should be valid for at least six months beyond your date of arrival and have a blank page; immigration may ask for proof of onward or return travel and accommodation details. If you intend to stay longer than 30 days, you must register with the Mongolia Immigration Agency in Ulaanbaatar within the first 7 days of arrival, and stays beyond 30 days require a visa or extension. The 30-day count is per visit; there is no fixed 90/180 rolling rule because Mongolia is not in the Schengen area and ETIAS does not apply. For tourism within 30 days, no fee, no application, and no online pre-registration are required at present.
