Do Singapore passport holders need a visa to visit SE?
No visa required. Singapore ordinary passport holders can visit Sweden visa-free for up to 90 days within any 180-day period as part of the Schengen Area. As of 30 May 2026, Singapore ordinary passport holders do not need a visa for short tourist visits to Sweden. Singapore is on the EU's visa-exempt list, so travelers may enter the Schengen Area (which includes Sweden) for up to 90 days in any rolling 180-day period for tourism, business, or family visits. No advance authorization is required yet: ETIAS, the EU's new travel authorization for visa-exempt nationals, is only expected to launch in the last quarter of 2026 and will not be mandatory before a transitional period ending around April 2027. The EU's Entry/Exit System (EES) is, however, now fully operational (since April 2026), so on arrival you will register biometric data (fingerprints and a facial image) at the Swedish border instead of receiving a passport stamp. Your passport must be valid for at least three months beyond your intended departure from the Schengen Area and issued within the previous 10 years; note that since October 2025 Swedish/Schengen authorities no longer accept passports whose validity has been extended. Carry proof of onward/return travel, accommodation, and sufficient funds, as border officers may request them. The 90-day allowance is shared across all 30 Schengen states combined, not per country.
