🇸🇬SINGAPORE🇵🇹PORTUGAL (SCHENGEN)SG-PT Do Singapore passport holders need a visa to visit Portugal (Schengen)?
Singapore ordinary passport holders can travel to Portugal visa-free for tourism for up to 90 days within any 180-day period across the Schengen Area. No visa or ETIAS is required as of 30 May 2026. Portugal is part of the Schengen Area, and Singapore is on the EU's visa-exempt list for short stays. As an ordinary Singapore passport holder, you may enter Portugal and travel throughout the Schengen Area for tourism, business, or family visits for up to 90 days within any rolling 180-day period without a visa. Your passport should be valid for at least three months beyond your intended date of departure from the Schengen Area and issued within the previous 10 years; in practice, carriers and border officers often prefer at least six months of validity, so renew early if your passport is close to expiry. At the border you may be asked to show proof of onward or return travel, sufficient funds, accommodation details, and travel insurance. The 90-day allowance covers the entire Schengen Area combined, not Portugal alone — time spent in any Schengen country counts toward the same 90/180 limit. Looking ahead, the EU's ETIAS travel authorisation is scheduled to launch in the last quarter of 2026, with a transitional period meaning it will only become mandatory for visa-exempt travellers such as Singaporeans around 2027. As of 30 May 2026, ETIAS is NOT yet required — you can still travel with just a valid passport. Check the official ETIAS portal before any trip in late 2026 or beyond.
