Do Singapore passport holders need a visa to visit NL?
Singapore ordinary passport holders can visit the Netherlands visa-free for tourism, up to 90 days within any 180-day period across the Schengen Area. No visa is needed as of 30 May 2026. Singapore is on the Schengen visa-exemption list, so holders of a Singapore ordinary passport do not need a visa for short tourist stays in the Netherlands. The limit is 90 days within any rolling 180-day period, counted across the entire Schengen Area (not just the Netherlands). Your passport must be valid for at least 3 months beyond your planned departure from Schengen and have been issued within the last 10 years. The European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS) is expected to begin operations in the last quarter of 2026; once live and after its transitional period, visa-exempt nationals including Singaporeans will need an approved ETIAS (EUR 20, valid up to 3 years) before travel. As of 30 May 2026 ETIAS is NOT yet operational and is not required. Border officers may still ask for proof of onward/return travel, accommodation, and sufficient funds.
