Singapore to Latvia visa requirements

Singapore ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for Latvia. Latvia is in the Schengen Area, and Singapore is on the EU visa-exempt list (Annex II of Regulation 2018/1806), allowing stays of up to 90 days within any 180-day period for tourism. However, since 1 September 2025 Latvia requires Singapore nationals to submit a free Electronic Travel Declaration (ETA) online at eta.gov.lv at least 48 hours before arrival. A Singapore (SG) ordinary passport holder can travel to Latvia visa-free for short tourist stays. Latvia is a full Schengen member, and Singapore appears in Annex II of EU Regulation 2018/1806, so no Schengen visa is required for stays of up to 90 days in any rolling 180-day period. Critically, Latvia introduced a country-specific entry requirement on 1 September 2025: third-country nationals not on its exemption list (which covers EU, NATO, OECD, EEA, Switzerland and Brazil) must submit an Electronic Travel Declaration to the State Threat Prevention Information System at eta.gov.lv at least 48 hours before entering or transiting Latvia. Singapore is not on the exemption list, so SG passport holders MUST complete this free declaration before each trip. It is not a visa and not an entry permit, but border guards may check it. Separately, the EU-wide ETIAS travel authorisation is expected to launch in the last quarter of 2026; once live (after a transitional period likely extending into 2027), Singapore nationals will additionally need an approved ETIAS (EUR 20, valid 3 years) before travel. As of 1 June 2026 ETIAS is not yet operational, so the only pre-travel formality today is the Latvian Electronic Travel Declaration. The passport should be valid for at least 3 months beyond the intended departure from the Schengen Area and issued within the previous 10 years.
