Do Singapore passport holders need a visa to visit Egypt?
Singapore ordinary passport holders need a visa for Egypt. The easiest route is the online e-Visa (USD 25 single entry), which permits a tourist stay of up to 30 days; visa on arrival is also available (now USD 30 since March 2026). A Singapore ordinary passport holder is NOT visa-free for Egypt. The recommended option is the Egypt e-Visa, applied for online via the official government portal (visa2egypt.gov.eg) before departure. The single-entry e-Visa costs USD 25, is valid for 90 days from issue, and allows a stay of up to 30 days per entry; a multiple-entry e-Visa (USD 60) allows multiple entries within 180 days, each stay up to 30 days. Visa on arrival is also available for Singaporeans at major airports (Cairo, Hurghada, Luxor, Sharm El Sheikh), but as of 1 March 2026 the VoA fee rose to USD 30 (a USD 25 sticker plus a USD 5 surcharge). The e-Visa is preferable because it locks in the lower fee, avoids airport queues, and is required to be lodged at least 7 days before departure. Passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of entry. Travelers should apply only via the official portal to avoid third-party markups, and carry proof of accommodation and a return ticket.
