Do Singapore passport holders need a visa to visit Germany (Schengen)?

No visa needed. Singapore ordinary passport holders can enter Germany visa-free for tourism for up to 90 days within any 180-day period across the Schengen Area. Singapore is on the EU's visa-exempt list, so an ordinary Singapore passport holder needs no visa for a short tourist visit to Germany. The limit is 90 days within any rolling 180-day period, counted across the entire Schengen Area (not Germany alone). The passport must be valid for the whole stay; the embassy recommends validity of at least 3 months beyond your planned departure. Two practical changes are in play: the EU Entry/Exit System (EES) became fully operational on 10 April 2026, so at your first crossing you give a facial image and fingerprints in place of a passport stamp. The ETIAS travel authorisation is NOT yet required as of 30 May 2026 (expected to launch late 2026 with a transitional grace period), so you do not need it for travel now. Always confirm timing close to departure.
