Singapore to Bulgaria visa requirements

Singapore ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for short tourist visits to Bulgaria. Bulgaria became a full Schengen Area member on 1 January 2025, so Singaporeans may enter visa-free for up to 90 days within any 180-day period. ETIAS is not yet required (expected to launch in the last quarter of 2026). Singapore is on the EU/Schengen visa-exempt list, and Bulgaria completed its accession to the Schengen Area on 1 January 2025 (air and sea borders opened in March 2024; land border checks were lifted on 1 January 2025). As a result, a Singapore ordinary passport holder can travel to Bulgaria for tourism or a short visit without any visa, staying up to 90 days in any rolling 180-day period across the whole Schengen zone. The passport should be valid for at least three months beyond the intended departure date (six months is the safest standard) and issued within the previous 10 years, with at least two blank pages. There is no entry fee. Travelers may be asked to show proof of onward or return travel, sufficient funds, accommodation details, and travel insurance. As of 1 June 2026 the EU Entry/Exit System (EES) is rolling out and biometrics may be collected at the border, but the European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS) is NOT yet mandatory; it is scheduled to begin in the last quarter of 2026, followed by a transitional grace period. Once ETIAS is operational, Singapore passport holders will need an approved (and paid) ETIAS authorisation before travel, but this does not change the 90/180 rule.
