Do Singapore passport holders need a visa to visit BE?
Singapore ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for short tourist stays in Belgium — they may enter visa-free for up to 90 days within any 180-day period across the Schengen Area. Belgium is part of the Schengen Area. As of 30 May 2026, Singapore ordinary passport holders are visa-exempt for short stays and can travel to Belgium for tourism for up to 90 days within any rolling 180-day period without applying for a Schengen short-stay (Type C) visa. No visa, eVisa, or visa-on-arrival is required. At the border you must still satisfy entry conditions: a passport valid for at least three months beyond your intended departure and issued within the previous 10 years, proof of onward/return travel, accommodation details, sufficient funds, and possibly travel medical insurance. A separate requirement is on the horizon: the European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS) is expected to go live in the last quarter of 2026. Once operational (after a transitional grace period), visa-exempt nationals including Singaporeans will need an approved ETIAS travel authorisation (fee EUR 20, free for those under 18 or over 70) before boarding. ETIAS is NOT a visa and is NOT yet required as of this date, but travellers in late 2026 should check before departure.
