Do Singapore passport holders need a visa to visit AT?
No visa required. Singapore ordinary passport holders can enter Austria visa-free for tourism for up to 90 days within any 180-day period across the Schengen Area. Austria is a member of the Schengen Area, and Singapore is on the EU's visa-exempt (Annex II) list. As confirmed by the Austrian Embassy in Singapore, holders of an ordinary Singapore passport may travel to Austria for tourism or business (without employment) without a visa for stays of up to 90 days within any rolling 180-day period. This 90/180 cap is cumulative across ALL Schengen countries, not per country. Your passport must be valid and should have at least three months' validity beyond your planned departure from the Schengen Area (six months recommended); it should also have been issued within the previous 10 years. Stays beyond 90 days require a national D visa or residence permit. Looking ahead: the EU's ETIAS travel authorisation is scheduled to become mandatory for visa-exempt nationals (including Singaporeans) from Q4 2026 — it is NOT yet required as of 30 May 2026. When live, ETIAS will cost EUR 20, be valid for 3 years (or until passport expiry), and is an authorisation, not a visa. The EU's Entry/Exit System (EES) for biometric border registration is also being phased in. Until ETIAS goes live, Singaporeans simply arrive visa-free with a valid passport.
