Sweden to China visa requirements

Swedish ordinary passport holders can visit mainland China visa-free for up to 30 days through 31 Dec 2026 for tourism, business, family/friend visits, exchanges, or transit. Swedish citizens holding ordinary passports may enter mainland China without a visa from 10 November 2025 through 31 December 2026 for business, tourism, family or friend visits, exchanges, or transit, for stays of no more than 30 days. The 30-day stay is counted from 00:00 on the day after entry. The exemption is unilateral and does not cover work, study, news coverage, stays over 30 days, non-ordinary passports, temporary passports, or emergency travel documents; those cases still require an appropriate Chinese visa or stay permit. Chinese border inspection can examine the purpose of travel and may ask for supporting proof such as invitation letters, air tickets, and accommodation reservations. For regular visa applications in Sweden, the Chinese Embassy directs ordinary passport applicants to the Stockholm or Gothenburg CVASC; the 2026 fee schedule lists Swedish applicants at SEK 1,085 total for regular service across all visa categories.
