Russian Federation to Yemen visa requirements

Russian ordinary passport holders need a visa to visit Yemen. There is no visa-free entry or visa on arrival for Russians, and the new 2025 eVisa is limited mainly to organized tourist groups (10+ people), business, and transit — so an individual tourist must obtain a traditional visa from a Yemeni embassy or consulate before traveling. A Russia (RU) ordinary passport holder traveling to Yemen (YE) for tourism requires a visa obtained in advance. Yemen is not in the Schengen area, so Schengen/ETIAS rules do not apply. Russia is not among the roughly 11 nationalities (mostly Gulf and neighboring Arab states) eligible for visa on arrival, and the only visa-free arrangements are for Hong Kong SAR holders and people of Yemeni origin. An individual Russian tourist does not fit the eVisa tourism criteria and must therefore apply for a conventional sticker visa at a Yemeni diplomatic mission. Crucially, an approved eVisa still must be collected as a sticker from a Yemeni embassy or consulate. Practical context: Yemen remains an active conflict zone, and the Russian Foreign Ministry strongly advises citizens against travel; consular processing is slow and unpredictable, and many missions handle Yemeni applications only on a case-by-case basis. Travelers should confirm current procedures directly with the Embassy of Yemen in Moscow before making any arrangements. Given conflicting and limited official channels, the conservative and correct verdict for a short tourist stay is visa-required.
