Russian Federation to Thailand visa requirements

Russian ordinary passport holders can enter Thailand visa-free for tourism for up to 60 days per entry. No visa is needed in advance, but every traveler must complete the free online Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) within 3 days before arrival. As of 30 May 2026, holders of an ordinary Russian Federation passport do not need a visa for short tourist visits to Thailand. Under Thailand's visa-exemption scheme (expanded to 93 countries from 15 July 2024), Russian citizens may stay up to 60 days per entry for tourism or short visits, and the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed this 60-day arrangement continues through 2026 despite earlier proposals to reduce it to 30 days. The stay can be extended once by 30 days at a local Thai Immigration office for a 1,900 THB fee. Since 1 May 2025, all foreign arrivals (including visa-exempt Russians) must complete the free Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) online no more than 3 days before arrival; the paper TM.6 form has been abolished. Travelers should carry a passport valid at least 6 months, proof of onward/return travel, and evidence of accommodation and sufficient funds. Visa-exempt entry is for tourism/short visits only - employment, paid volunteering or business work is not permitted. Note a cumulative cap: visa-exempt land/air entries are watched against roughly 90 days within any 180-day window, and frequent re-entry can lead to refusal, in which case a Tourist Visa (TR) should be obtained in advance from a Royal Thai Embassy.
